JFC I had done as I said above, but it was pinned from a shortcut. I actually right-clicked on the folder itself in Totalcommander and pinned that, and voilà, my question was answered in the positive! Please ignore the above, I'll leave it for others to find if needed (including me in 5 years when I forget how to do it and stumble upon my own posts after googling). |

you can add the tool bar feature back with Explorer Patcher https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher personally I like the Quick Launch feature with is also returned with Explorer Patcher |

I have a folder called /etc in my /Documents directory that I've used for years on previous Windows versions as a toolbar on the task bar. In Win11 I can't do this, I do have the folder showing up in my "pinned to Start Menu" section of open-shell. The bad part is it simply opens the folder in a regular explorer window.
Any way to make it open as a flyout list of the files?
I guess old age is making the vast number of settings in open-shell daunting.
