##Welcome to the OpenSplitTime wiki!

OpenSplitTime will provide a repository for endurance event data, an intelligent import function to encourage and help automate gathering of that data, and a dramatically improved way to gather new event data in real time. The product will have two significant facets.

The first, opensplittime.org, will allow for importing and browsing of historic race data, with an intelligent query system to allow endurance athletes and fans to compare, refine, and predict in ways not practical in the past.

The second facet, live.opensplittime.org, or OST Live, will be a fast and flexible real-time data import system to allow race directors and other event organizers to enter data with immediate error-checking feedback, post run data to a live event database, share the database with the public, and upon conclusion, automatically import the data into the historical OpenSplitTime database.
