I have a long-standing preference for Linux, open-source software, and tooling that gives engineers direct control over how systems are built and operated. Gentoo and Arch remain the distributions I enjoy most for different reasons: Gentoo for the depth of customization and Portage, Arch for speed, practicality, and the breadth of the AUR.
