fakecloud is a free, open-source local AWS cloud emulator. Single Rust binary, no external dependencies. Drop-in replacement for AWS services during development and testing — supports S3, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, Lambda, IAM, STS, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch Logs, Cognito, Kinesis, API Gateway v2, and more.
Unlike LocalStack (which moved most services behind a paid tier), fakecloud is free forever and AGPL-3.0 licensed. 118+ stars, active development with CI, conformance tests, and E2E test suites.
