Enjoying the new styles on Select. For select elements with the multiple attribute, the dropdown arrow still shows even though it's not a dropdown. Would also be nice to have the checkmark if that's possible.

I would change the specificity of the selector: 946db4c#r166495681

Also on mobiles (or browsers/devices that do not show the scrollbar) the dropdown arrow is visible.

Update:
I have checked and the ::picker-icon cannot be styles yet for select[multiple] so there is not much that can be done.

Generally I would not recommend using multiple attribute for <select> It has an awful UX on desktop:

• most users don't know how to select multiple items
• it need a larger height than normal select, which makes it to be out of scope of other form elements (like button, text input, etc) visually
• It's still not possible to style the options! even with the new base-select specs!!
• It has a different visual in mobile, and because of that you wouldn't want to set a strict, custom height for it because on mobile, instead of a tall box, it opens a modal with checkboxes inside.

Using checkboxes instead of <select multiple> will give you a better UX,
